RTED Group: The Power of Connection

The Rural Technology and Economic Development (RTED) Group is a nonprofit organization that spawned from an applied research project at Johns Hopkins University. Responding to her husband's observation about the tremendous need for technological resources in his hometown of Tillery, North Carolina, RTED Group Founder, Wendy M. Edmonds accepted the charge.

What she found in Tillery was a small, rural community disconnected not only from neighboring townships but the world! What was ignited in Mrs. Edmonds that day was a passion for bringing abundance to rural communities by connecting them to resources that significantly enhance their quality of life.

Program Overview and Sponsorship Opportunities

The company offers support and training to address three crucial categories of need: community assessment, program development, and capacity building. While every individual area operates in its own phase, it is important that communities understand the process to adequately prepare for growth.
